Makaton

Come and learn Makaton and improve your skills at supporting communication in the classroom.  

We're delighted to be able to offer Level 1 and 2 Makaton Training. Makaton is a communication system which uses symbols, signs and speech to encourage and enable communication. Level 1 training provides a starting point to learning Makaton and is suitable for beginners. To complete Level 2 you must have completed Level 1 within the last two years. The training is particularly suitable for Teaching Assistants who are supporting communication in the classroom. 

Come and learn Makaton in a small group- due to the practical nature of the course there is a maximum of 12 participants.

This is a one-day accredited course- for Level 1, please specify which date you wish to attend when booking. This accredited training is led by experienced Makaton trainer Nina Hawkins.

The cost of the training is £65pp and includes a manual and certificate. Tea and coffee is included in the price, but please bring your own lunch.
